Travel writer Tom Miller will speak at Miami University at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at a location to be announced. The event is hosted by the Miami University chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Miller also will conducts workshop titled “Writing about Your International Study: The Lens Through Which You Understand Another Culture” from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in 212 MacMillan Hall, hosted by the Howe Writing Center. Journalist/civil rights activist Charles Cobb

Journalist and civil rights activist Charles Cobb will give a speech titled “Race and News Coverage from the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party to Barack Obama," at Miami University at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, in 212 MacMillan Hall titled. His speech is hosted by Miami's Journalism Program.  Cobb, a senior analyst for www.allAfrica.com and a visiting prof at Brown University, will participate in the Center for American and World Culture’s conference, “Freedom Summer: Unity and Change: Then and Now,” Oct. 9-11.
