Oxford Farmer's Market

The Farmers Market in Oxford is open every Saturday with more than 17 vendors to bring area residents the freshest food available. Merchandise includes eggs and produce as well as items like goat cheese and organic soap.

In addition to the warm breeze and the sun shining, Oxford’s Farmer’s Market will be open next weekend for the last market of the winter season.

Although Oxford’s Farmer’s Market is typically open every third Saturday of the month, starting May 1st the market will be open every Saturday. 

Oxford’s Farmer’s Market Uptown has been established for over six years and features fresh produce and meat from local farmers.

However, at Tim Cook’s first press conference as Apple’s new CEO, Cook unveiled the next generation of the iPhone, and it wasn’t the 5.

OXFORD, Ohio, Oct. 14, 2010 — As Oxford City Manager, Doug Elliott has to make tough decisions when it comes to budgetary matters. Each year, he develops an annual city budget based upon reports from department heads and presents it to members of City Council for approval.

For the second year in a row, Elliott’s proposed budget calls for the city to run at a deficit. He views this as one of the hardest parts of his job.

OXFORD, Ohio, Sept. 9, 2010 — A proposed increase in Oxford's earnings tax increase to aid fire and emergency medical services will appear on the city's Nov. 2 ballot.

The 0.25 percent earnings tax increase would aid emergency services in Oxford in response to an increase in call volume and changes in training requirements, Oxford City Manager Doug Elliott said.

Ox Fest

(Oxford)  Even though the forecast is calling for rain this Saturday, Ox Fest will go on rain or shine.

 For the second year in a row Ox Fest will be returning to Camp America which is just a few miles outside of Miami’s campus. 

This all day music festival will be returning hip artist, Gorilla Zoe whose hit song, “Echo” made it on billboards top 100 list in 2009. 

Ox Fest will also feature two student bands, one being Fire at the Slope.

Accessibility at Oxford

(Oxford) Students at Miami complain about stressors like lack of sleep and an abundance of homework but imagine if you were one of the over 200 students with disability at Miami. Andy Zeisler from the Office of Disability Resources (ODR) stated that a lot of issues of accessibility are as hidden as the disabilities themselves. Many people with disabilities face adversity trying to engage online. Flashy websites can induce seizures and many web pages do not incorporate closed captioning on their sites.
